Pastoral Team:

Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you.

Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.

Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care,
but lead them by your own good example — 1 Peter 5:2-3 (NLT)

WHAT WE BELIEVE

1.png

About God

We believe that there is only one, living and true God (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 45:5-6).

We believe that God is “triune” in nature and reveals Himself to mankind in three persons through: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17, John 1:1,2,14, 1 John 5:7,).

God is the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth (Colossians 1:16-17).

4.png

About Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit in a miraculous manner to save mankind (Matthew 1:18-25). Jesus was born of Mary, a virgin (Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:34-35).  Jesus is co-equal with God and  lived a sinless human life.  Jesus offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind through his death on the cross and  arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death ( Luke 24:1-8, Philippians 2:5-11)  Jesus then ascended to Heaven’s Glory and will return to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords ( Acts 1:9-11)

7.png

About The Holy Spirit

We believe that God the Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and God the Son, and that He possesses the same nature (John 14:16-17). The Holy Spirit was active in creation (Genesis 1:1-2). We believe that the miraculous spiritual gift ministry bestowed upon the Lord’s Churches by the Holy Spirit was only temporary – and stood until the completion of the Scriptures ( 1 Cor 13:8-12). Today, the Holy Spirit works through faith, hope and love (1 Cor 13:13). He convicts of sin, of judgment, of righteousness, and points people to Christ (John 16:7-14).

About The Bible

We believe that the Holy Bible, which consists of the sixty-six books from Genesis to Revelation, was written by men who were supernaturally inspired by the Holy Spirit to write down God’s own words (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21).  We believe the Bible is the only complete and final revelation of God’s will to man, and that it is absolute truth without any error, needing no further substitution or amendment (Proverbs 30:5-6).  For this reason, the Bible should be carefully studied and its many truths accurately discerned (2 Timothy 2:15)

2.png

About Mankind

Mankind is made in the spiritual image of God and is the supreme object of God’s creation            (Genesis 1:26,27, 31).  Although mankind has the tremendous potential for good, he/she is marred by an attitude of disobedience towards God which is called sin.  This attitude is what separates mankind from God ( Romans 3:10, 23)

3.png

About Eternity

Mankind was created to exist forever.  He or She will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or will be in union with Him through forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is Hell.  To be eternally in union with God is eternal life.  Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. (John 3:16, Romans 6:23, 1 John 2:25, 1 John 5:11-13)

5.png

About Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God to mankind.  Mankind can never make up for his/her sin through self improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ and accepting His sacrifice on the cross can each person be saved from sins penalty.  Eternal life begins at the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his/her life through faith ( John 3:15-17, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9,13, Ephesians 2:8,9)

6.png

About Eternal Security

We believe that the eternal life Jesus promised is received at the moment of salvation (John 5:24). At that instant, God seals us with His Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 1:22, Ephesians 1:13) and we are held safely and securely in the hands of God (John 10:27-29). We can never lose the gift of Salvation or the eternal life God has so lovingly provided, for we are kept by the power of God not ourselves (1 Peter 1:5).

About The Church

We believe that a biblical “Church” is a scriptural New Testament “Assembly” – composed entirely of saved, baptised followers of Christ, who gather together within their locality to give glory to God. We believe that those belonging to Scriptural New Testament Assemblies have entered into a covenant relationship with God and with one another for the purposes of worship, faith, service, and fellowship – and this is God’s expressed desire (Hebrews 10:25, Ephesians 3:21). We believe that each scriptural assembly is a local body who is governed by Jesus Christ, as her head, in accordance with the Word of God and the leadership of His Holy Spirit (Colossians 1:18). We believe in a Biblical heritage that is neither Catholic or Protestant by nature, but is doctrinally traced back to Christ and the first assembly He established (Matthew 16:18). We believe that every scriptural assembly has been instructed to follow the same “Great Commission” which Jesus Christ Himself gave to His first assembly (Matthew 28:18-20).

About Church Ordinances

We believe in the two Scriptural ordinances Christ taught for the Church to continually hold to and practice:

i) Baptism:

We believe that scriptural baptism is by full immersion under water of a believer, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, by the authority of a scriptural New Testament assembly (Matthew 28:18-19). Baptism is the picture of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ in the life of the child of God, and shows their desire to live a new kind of life as they follow Him (Romans 6:4). Baptism is also a prerequisite to membership within a local, New Testament Church Assembly (Acts 2:41).

ii) The Lord’s Supper:

We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial ordinance remembering Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf, and the promise of His return (1 Corinthians 11:23-26), It is to be observed by the members of a local assembly after solemn, personal self-examination (1 Corinthians 11:27-29).

Giving

WAYS TO GIVE:

Giving is a healthy part of a Christians life. At FMBC, we honour God through tithes & offerings, and believe it is our privilege and responsibility to give to our local Church.

The Bible says that giving is a manifestation of the grace of God at work in our lives (2 Corinthians 8:7), and should be done with a joyful attitude of thanksgiving.

"So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”

- 2 Corinthians 9:7
